I've been using this as a vocab supplement alongside other forms of studying, and it's been doing a pretty good job thus far! I haven't tried turning it off yet, but I do wish there were less exercises that relied on the roman alphabet---as that is counter productive in the long run. I also appreciate being able to skip over some of the foundations, unlike in some other apps. I'm a beginner, but not an absolute one, and it's nice to be able to skip over hiragana.

I think this app is perfect for reviewing words. Might not work as well as flashcards but it's more fun and I wanna keep coming back to it! The only thing I don't like is when you have to writing out the word. When the bubble nudges its like I don't wanna see that and it does it way too soon. I wanna find it for myself and I have to rush myself to avoid it. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Good for learning the foundation of Japanese. Things that confused me a little: the hiragana for Asagohan spells out "choushoku" and for food/words, the English combinations don't match how the characters are combined (instead of a-sa-go-ha-n, it's something like as-agoh-an), which makes difficulty in learning/knowing the characters. Edit: It's great! Learning the characters is easier. Hope that as the app continues, spelling out the words can use the characters along with romanji (and later Kanji, if possible).. I have yet to get that far. The animated word graphics are amazing!
